The Darkness Box - Radio Drama

Story by Ursula k Le Guin

The Darkness Box tells the story of Rikard, a young prince who is destined to confront his traitorous brother in battle. Their father, the King, sealed Darkness in a box to preserve a moment where both his sons are still alive. With darkness sealed away and tossed into the sea an endless loop of time is created. Rikard is delivered the box by a small boy who found it washed up on the shore . Rikard opens the box, and unknowingly restores darkness to the world. With darkness returned, time flows once more, and again Rikard must fight his brother, but this time the battle will be done once and for all.

 

An Die Musik- Radio Drama

Story by Ursula k Le Guin

An Die Musik follows the famous music manager Otto Egorin who is approached by a man named Ladislas Gaye who hopes to get his music published Egorin reads Gaye’s music and realizes he may be a musical genius. Hoping to dash Gaye’s hopes, Otto tells Gaye he must write a lot more to be a genius and that “...music is no good...it won’t save us...”. Gaye leaves Egorin’s house not defeated, but feeling happy believing in himself and in his music.

 

Ylla - Radio Drama

Story by Ray Bradbury

Ylla tells the story of a Martian woman, Ylla, who is trapped in an unromantic marriage. She begins to have dreams of two astronauts landing on Mars and soon discovers the visions are happening through telepathy. Her husband, though he pretends to deny the reality of the dreams, becomes bitterly jealous. Sensing his wife's inchoate romantic feelings for one of the astronauts he takes his gun and kills the astronauts Nathaniel York and "Bert" as soon as they arrive. Ylla senses the lose but does not remember who they are or why she can stop crying.
